FIBA CP MAKES A MAJOR CONTRIBUTION TO CULTURAL SUSTAINABILITY: THE “FROM TRADITION TO FUTURE” PROJECT LAUNCHED AT İNEGÖL AVM

Seeing the preservation and transmission of art and cultural heritage to future generations as one of its primary responsibilities, Fiba Commercial Properties continues to invest in this field with determination. Through projects that aim to sustain cultural values and support art, Fiba CP creates long-lasting contributions to society. With this vision, Fiba CP has implemented a major initiative at İnegöl AVM, which it owns and manages.

The “From Tradition to Future” project, launched in 2025, seeks to revive traditional crafts and pass this heritage on to younger generations. Crafts such as pottery, marbling (ebru), tiles, and ceramics are introduced to art enthusiasts through events held throughout the year.

İnegöl AVM: The New Hub of Traditional Arts

Going beyond its identity as a shopping mall, İnegöl AVM under Fiba CP’s management is transforming into a meeting point for culture and art. Year-round workshops allow both children and adults to experience traditional crafts firsthand and learn directly from masters.

The project is carried out in collaboration with local artists, art academics, and universities, inviting participants into a journey of cultural and artistic discovery. The works produced in the workshops are fired and exhibited professionally with expert support.

The Art Workshop established within İnegöl AVM continues to preserve traditional crafts while offering art lovers a creative experience. To date, nearly 50 workshops have been held, where participants created over 1,200 ceramic tiles based on their imagination. After being fired, these special pieces began to be permanently exhibited on the walls at the entrance of İnegöl AVM.

Each tile represents both individual traces and collective memory. This creative process turns the shopping mall into not just a commercial space but also a cultural focal point where social memory is revived.

A particular emphasis of the workshops is on Iznik tiles, which emerged in Anatolia between the 15th and 17th centuries and today are displayed in some of the world’s most prestigious museums, including the Louvre, Victoria & Albert Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Harvard Art Museums. The project brings this deep-rooted art form back into daily life, connecting traditional values with today’s world.

Fiba CP’s Lasting Contribution to Culture and Art

In every investment it makes, Fiba CP focuses not only on economic returns but also on creating cultural and social value. The “From Tradition to Future” project reflects this vision, aiming not only to organize art workshops but also to strengthen social memory, support cultural sustainability, and create economic opportunities for traditional crafts.

Through collaborations with educational institutions, the project also provides open and inclusive learning environments, transforming art into a shared, co-produced, and lived experience rather than just a product to be displayed and consumed.

An Ecosystem Supporting Art

The “From Tradition to Future” project goes beyond art workshops to ensure that traditional crafts become economically sustainable. Works produced in the workshops are exhibited and sold, creating new opportunities for artists. In this way, cultural heritage is preserved while also contributing to the local economy.

Statement from Yurdaer Kahraman, CEO and Board Member of Fiba CP:

“At Fiba CP, we focus on creating long-term value in every area we invest in. We go beyond economic development to lead in preserving cultural heritage and promoting art. With the From Tradition to Future project we launched at İnegöl AVM, we are taking responsibility to ensure traditional crafts are not forgotten, social memory is preserved, and cultural heritage is carried into the future.

We invite art lovers, masters, and younger generations to join this important project that brings people together and creates cultural bridges across time.”
