Starmall located in Shenyang, China, operates in an area of 115,000 m2 in total went through an innovative reconversion in 2017. Restructuring the large retail store section of 20,000 m2 that was previously operating on three floors in total according to the shopping habits, it now offers 25 new stores to its visitors. With reaching 230 stores in total Starmall’s value increased in a great scale in addition to its special living spaces such as Star Gastronomy Avenue, Event Venue and Fun Factor.

Thus while the mall visitor number increased, a need of a working space was met. In addition mall occupancy rate went from 55 to 98 percentage.

Planning to start its reconstruction in 2018, M1 Kartal Mall will be renconverted to a contemporary shopping mall with its new 20.000 m2 leasable area and 800 car capacity parking lot by preserving its past architectural identity.
Within the project, an arena will be built which will serve as a meeting point for locals. In addition to this arena, a new residence will be located which will add a new value to this reconversion.
