Energy Management

All our shopping malls utilize automation applications to ensure optimal energy saving in electrical and mechanical systems. Actions such as putting escalators into sleep mode and using LED lights in new areas are implemented, and regular measurements and controls are carried out and reported to plan efficiency activities. The conversion of existing lighting in the mall to LED and our solar energy project works are also ongoing.

Water Management

In all common areas, savings are made by replacing faucet aerators, and gardening/plant watering is carried out using underground and drainage water. In addition, water waste is prevented by promptly repairing faulty devices such as flushes and faucets. The building and roof washing periods are also monitored based on savings.

Waste Management

Our malls possess a Zero Waste Certificate. As a 2nd Degree Waste Collection Center, paper, metal, glass, plastic, battery, electronic waste and textile products collected from both the stores and the waste stations in common areas, are handed over to authorized waste collection companies or relevant municipalities.

The recycling wastes in our malls are delivered to licensed municipal units or licensed waste collection companies; our malls monitor the type and quantity of the waste and report the amounts to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's data system every month.

The waste oils generated from food and beverage stores and restaurants are taken by waste oil collection companies they have contracted with, against receipts. These receipts are collected by us, and the information is entered into the Ministry's zero waste information system and stored in our archive.

Awareness

Fluorescent lights and printer cartridges are collected in separate containers in different areas and are delivered to the municipality for disposal when they reach a certain level. The drainage water of mechanical systems is collected in one area for recovery. Zero waste awareness is shared with all customers, especially children, through organized events. Gebze Center is one of the five participants of the "Zero Waste Forest" platform/project.

Supply Management

With the ERP system, paper usage is aimed to be kept at a minimum level.
