Making investments for shopping malls, offices, residences, movie theaters, and hotels both at home and abroad with the aim of increasing the efficiency and performance of commercial real estate; FİBA Commercial Properties continues its activities in its shopping malls with a "responsible brand approach". Within this scope, FİBA CP carried out very meaningful work in İnegöl Mall, its investment in İnegöl, and drew attention to the importance of recycling.

FİBA CP recycled and reused the wooden blocks which are weighing approximately 2 thousand kilograms and became out of use because of the restoration activities performed on the mall’s roof within the scope of renovation works. Thanks to the project titled “Transformation Story”, 80 trees were saved from being cut down.

Operating in the field of commercial real estate in many cities of Turkey and abroad in China, Romania, and Moldova, FİBA Commercial Properties (FİBA CP) has pointed out the importance of recycling for a sustainable future with the Transformation Story it has accomplished in İnegöl Mall.

FİBA CP started the recycling process by agreeing with a wood company specializing in its field after carefully dismantling the wooden materials weighing approximately 2 thousand kilograms. 8 benches were built with a thousand kilograms of wooden blocks and the number of areas where visitors could rest in the common areas within the mall was increased.

It saved 80 trees from being cut down...

Always paying attention to guide the children with the steps it has taken to protect nature, FİBA CP has built a playground in İnegöl Mall, where the children can have fun with their friends, by using entirely natural products with approximately 300 kilograms of wooden blocks which were sent for recycling. FİBA CP cleaned and spared the remaining 300 kilograms of wood for future use and saved 80 trees from being cut down with its recycling work.

“We have carried out many environmentalist works...”

Yurdaer Kahraman, CEO and Board Member of FİBA CP, says that the future of the people is parallel with the nature they live in and adds that they operate for the sustainability, protection of nature, and leaving a more livable environment to future generations with every social responsibility project they have performed. Kahraman said: “As FİBA CP family, we carry on our business in line with focused studies and by creating a high added value before our business partners and visitors. In our shopping malls where we offer a safe, healthy and comfortable shopping service, we also act in awareness to the cultural, economic, social, and environmental problems of the world we live in, and implement social responsibility projects that shall create solutions in all these areas for a better world. We have carried out a very important study in the field with our Transformation Story project in İnegöl’s only mall, İnegöl Mall, where we have previously carried out many environmental studies such as Returning Happiness Project and water-saving project. Our social responsibility projects that generate value will increasingly continue in the long term.”

Kahraman said: “However, actually, we need to look at the issue from a broader perspective, not on a company basis or in the sense of the number of social responsibility projects. At FİBA CP, we carry out our activities to encourage more institutions to work for a sustainable environment. We aim for more institutions and organizations to work for the environment and nature in this way. Because, unfortunately, as we have witnessed during forest fire disasters our country experienced, environment and climate are changing, at this point, we all have to take on responsibility with a responsible brand understanding.

“We will continue to carry out similar transformation projects with a sense of responsibility...”

Caner Mirata, FİBA CP Architecture Department Director, explained the project process in this way; “After wooden blocks existing on the roof of İnegöl Mall had been dismantled according to the ongoing renovation project, they were reconsidered by PDB company and a kids playhouse and sitting benches were produced. Since wooden blocks were reused in this way without wasting, many trees were prevented from being cut down in the future. Seeing that the forests are destroyed rapidly in the world nowadays, such recycling works has become even more important. With this sense of responsibility, FİBA Commercial Properties will continue to carry out similar recycling projects.”

İnegöl Mall offers a safe and enjoyable shopping experience with its hygiene rules. The Mall was granted a COVID-19 Safe Service Certificate by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) for the measures it had been taken.
